Donnie here is my trike love. Boom bikes are a German brand and they are basically a VW trike. Donnie comes with a 1200cc air cooled beetle engine. Old school style but did upgrade the generator to an alternator. New tires, brakes, shafts and so on. Seats were redone as well.
These things maintain the factory style beetle gear box. 4 speed and reverse that shifts with your left hand. Donnie is not perfect, not new, but is a blast to ride.
These also have the benefit of NOT needing a motorcycle license. They are classified as a recreational vehicle. With that MIRASCON and USAA will not insure a trike, so Donnie has insurance with Atlantic trust. Yes they work with the base, and it’s €300 a year.
Cheap gas, cheap insurance and a ton of fun. Still has a little over a year left on inspection (due Aug 2027) and really the inspection was far easier than a car.
This is a great alternative for someone who doesn’t have a motorcycle license or if you are like me and have a spine that is as strong as dried linguine.
Located in spang town in my garage. Prices are ALL over the place with these in Germany and they are not common in the US market. $6000 obo. Feel free to toss me an offer if you are serious.
